nice job focus on the subject. I find the highlights in the background a bit distracting

Nicely in focus. I like the bud in the background on the left, which balances it out. Maybe make the rest of the background just slightly darker?

Lovely focus on the thistle. Could you have moved to a different position and avoided the other, out of focus flower? Perhaps a tighter square crop would have worked better?crop
