Biography |
Brad - A native of Kent, Brad has exhibited in the Yale Student Group Show at Cornell University; at the New Haven Green Art festival; had a one man show at the Stony Brook Library; a group show at the Company Store in Kent with David Armstrong and Eric Sloane, as well as at the former Tieglietto Gallery, the Washington and Kent Art Associations, and the Kent Memorial Library. Brad received his BFA from Yale School of Art and is a graduate of the South Kent School. "Joseph Campbell suggests that spirituality begins with a sense of awe. I try to capture the awe in my surroundings, to express the power of the ordinary in my images," comments Brad. Karin - While not journeying the New England countryside or the spectacular American southwest to capture their quiet grace or spectacular beauty, Karin exhibits her work at art shows, fine art festivals, and area galleries. She grew up in Europe under the artistic guidance of her mother, a watercolor artist and photographer who taught her to see and capture the splendors of nature in photographic images. Her award winning photograph, "Housatonic Autumn" was featured in an exhibition at the Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge, MA, in 2004. "Photography to me is not merely the execution of technical skills or the interpretation of subjects. I see images as lyrical spaces, not places or objects," says Karin of her work. |
