We went through some hard times in 2020-2022 but hope that the new season will be much kinder to us. Support you club and your newsletter with active participation because we cannot survive without that.
There are several committee positions open such as Secretary, Public Events Coordinator (have one, can use another), Salon Show Coordinator (have one, can use another). If interested in any of these positions, please let Dawn or Lazlo know
the videos of our previous meetings
is finished. Thank you Jeff Breitman for your hard work on the project, selecting the pictures, putting it altogether, arranging the printing, etc.
Get in touch with Jeff if you want a copy of the book.
The coming season we will compete in NECCC interclub competitions in the
Nature and Pictorial categories.
These competitions stay the same as last year. We enter 4 images from 4
different members in the Nature and Pictorial competition.
We also compete in the PSA interclub competitions.
PSA is starting this year a Black and White competition, we will compete
in the Pictorial and Black and White categories this year, and NOT in the
Travel category anymore.
In the PSA competitions we enter 6 images from 6 different members.
I will start asking for NECCC’s Nature and Pictorial images in September,
and for PSA’s Pictorial and Black and White images in October.
Get ready and start collecting your images now.

November has been a busy month with the holidays upon us. Hopefully
you were able to attend our November program presented by Bert Sirkin.
His presentation on Masking in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw.
Lazlo provided a recording of the meeting via email. A lot of information
was covered so if you want to review the various techniques, you can
go back and watch it over again. If you don’t have the recording and
want to see it, contact Lazlo.
The planning for our December Holiday Party and meeting is underway.
You should have received a “Save the Date” with details. The meeting
date has been moved to Wednesday December 14th at 7:00. Our theme this
year is the Ugly Sweater. So put your creative hat on and see if you
can come up with the ugliest sweater! Prizes will be given!! Don’t forgot
to sign up for the pot-luck too so we can make sure we have enough food.
At our December meeting, we will also have a ‘swap meet’ / Tag Sale.
If you have any camera gear laying around and you want to get rid of
it or you are looking for camera gear, then this may be your answer.
Empty out your closets, basements, storage units, camera bags and prepare
to swap or sell your surplus gear. You will receive and email soon where
we will ask for RSVPs so that we can get an idea of how many people
are attending.
Our salon show at Noble Horizons is coming up in January 2023….it will
be here before you know it so start you planning now. We need to know
if you will be attending and if so, we will need a list of titles and
prices so that we can evaluate the space and prepare labels. Please
review the guidelines sent out recently which explains how to prepare
your photos for the show. You will receive email updates and reminders
regarding drop-off, due dates for titles/prices and photos, reception
and pick-up dates.
The weather has turned much colder the last few days. Just be thankful
we didn’t get the weather that’s been hitting the Buffalo area….they
have rec’d over 6 feet in some areas. We’ve only experienced a few dustings
so far. You may have heard the expression “There’s no bad weather, just
bad preparation”. Make sure you prepare yourself and your camera gear
for the cold weather. Stay Warm and keep on shooting.

After our regular Tuesday morning gathering at Gifford's in Sharon a few members from the Housatonic Camera Club's went outing to the quaint hamlet of Wassaic, taking pictures of the town, the old buildings, the railroad, etc residents and each other. Thanks to Bill Lyon for being such great sport and doing all the modeling for us.
W e hope you've enjoyed taking part in our Photo Challenge. You managed
to capture some incredible shots! Are you ready for the next round? It will
be "Still Life"
