The coming season we will compete in NECCC interclub competitions in the
Nature and Pictorial categories. These competitions stay the same as last
year. We enter 4 images from 4 different members in the Nature and Pictorial
competition. More info here:

We also compete in the PSA interclub competitions. For 2023-24 PSA Interclub,

Our first meeting was a success, fall is
here and the weather is getting cooler. It's a nice time of year to get out
and photograph! Several new members were able to attend the first meeting and
enjoy the wonderful member showcases. Such variety of photos, topics and styles.
Shortly after the meeting, I sent all members the updated HCC Handbook v4. Most
committee positions are filled but we are still looking for someone to sign
up for Hospitality. If you are able to take on this position, please let me
know. We could also use a few more hands to help organize field trips if that
is something you’d be interested in as well.
Please let the committee members know if you have some ideas for field trips.
This is one of my favorite times of year to get out and explore with my cameras.
Let Lazlo or myself know if you have any ideas and we will send out an email
to club members to see if there is interest. Also let us know if there are fall
festivals and events you are aware of that you think the club would enjoy to
photograph.
At our October meeting, Jeff, Steven and Lazlo will provide a presentation on
Color to Black and White Conversion – Made Easy. Demonstrations will be conducted
in a variety of apps including Adobe Raw, Lightroom and Photoshop so hopefully
with those, we have you covered. The meeting will take place at Noble Horizons.
Don't Miss it! Lastly, don’t forget to give Lazlo content for the newsletter.
A short article, links to useful information related to photography, Tips, pictures…all
are welcome. Hope to see you all at the October meeting! Happy shooting until
then. Dawn
After ten days in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia,
I am concentrating on capturing different species of wildlife, mainly birds,
"in situ". So the viewer can experience the subject in his natural habitat.
It's definitely a work in progress and if I knew PS etc I might be able to deemphasize
the background a bit more. Live, and hopefully, learn...
This summer was quite the Arctic affair as there were two trips on the calendar to the High Canadian Arctic. What a life changing experience that was, including my maiden voyage in a submersible.
It is therefore that I take frequent pauses to photograph the beginning of fall, because the beauty is breathtaking, especially during sunrise.
Keep your camera's close, this is going to be a spectacular month for all of us to snap some more Connecticut souvenirs.

Which Canadian province is the largest of
Canada’s three Maritime provinces? Here are some hints. This province is located
under Quebec's Gaspé Peninsula and above on the Bay of Fundy. It borders the
state of Maine. It was one of the first provinces, along with Ontario, Quebec
and Nova Scotia, to join together to form the Dominion of Canada in 1867. Today
it boasts of being the only truly bi-lingual Canadian province.
Some pictures as more clues from our trip in June 2023. Can’t wait to go back
it was beautiful, not crowded, home to friendly people, great food, wine and
beer. Surprise…..New Brunswick…the forgotten province.
