For our February meeting, member Jack Kearney gave us a wonderful presentation on “Introduction to Post-Processing Lightroom / Adobe Camera Raw”. With the skills you’ve learned—whether it’s adjusting exposure, fine-tuning colors, or refining details—you can use these powerful tools to enhance your photos. Don’t be afraid to dive in and experiment with the techniques. The more you practice, the more you’ll see how small tweaks can make a huge difference. For those who could not attend the meeting, a video of the presentation will be available on our website.
For our March presentation, Mike Moates will give us a presentation on “Creative Ways to Photographing Flowers”. Hopefully we will get warner weather and soon thereafter, you can put your knowledge into action, get outside, find a beautiful bloom, and experiment the techniques we will discuss.
The Noble Horizons salon show has wrapped up. We had 3 photo sales! Don’t forget our next salon show is at the Scoville Memorial Library. Drop off dates for photos is 2/20 – 3/2 at the library’s circulation desk (upper level) at 38 Main Street in Salisbury during library hours. The opening reception will be Friday, March 14th at 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
I look forward to seeing many of you on our next Zoom call. Until then, happy shooting.

The George Eastman Museum is located in Rochester, New York, on the estate of George Eastman, the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film. Founded in 1947 as an independent nonprofit institution, it is the world’s oldest photography museum and one of the oldest film archives. The museum holds unparalleled collections—encompassing several million objects—in the fields of photography, cinema, and photographic and cinematographic technology, and photographically illustrated books. The institution is also a longtime leader in film preservation and photographic conservation. (https://www.eastman.org)
Each year the Eastman House creates an annual Dutch Connection floral display of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, amaryllis and spring annuals. The event draws thousands of visitors yearly in February when everyone needs a little “spring”. Between 1905 and 1932, George Eastman ordered thousands of bulbs every year inspired by the flower fields he saw while bicycling in Holland. Eastman was a philanthropist, hunter, music lover, business leader (Kodak) and inventor. His home and museum reflect his interests, and inventions and it continues to inspire visitors, scientifically, artistically and historically. On a visit this week, I got out my iphone and captured a bit of the beauty.
